Lately almost all my cards are reversed.I wish I didn't know about the possible negative significance of this- it distracts me from just being with the image.

I will hope for this shadow coming with me when I go off to teach- it is a comforting reminder that relaxing and paying attention could be more important than all of the preparation. It implies a kind of trust.

I think your initial response to this card is what I am trying to address! While there's enough melodrama in this card to make you stop at your first impression, you will be rewarded for going further into the visual language of the Tarot. You could look at the Five of Cups - by comparing these two cards you might see more of what I'm suggesting.

Ok, Barbara, I'm looking at the card and it cannot possibly stand or suggest anything but deep sorrow. Three clouds hover over a heart pierced by three swords... rain everywhere. Even the Trinity has turned against love. I do find the symmetrical pattern of the piercing to remind me of the design of crests and authoritarian monograms. Don't know what to make of that - a kind of ordered violence. More ordered than the card with the fellow face down stabbed innumerable times in the back. These are depressing cards. I'm curious how the connection is made between the swords and the notion of intellect?

This is so useful for me to remember- a mirror of the benefits of a deep response over a knee jerk reaction, in any situation.
My initial response to this card was imminent doom, and now I see the possibilities of intuition and insight that penetrate a more superficial response.
I am still puzzling out what a "sentimentalized short-hand for feelings"
looks like.

Hi,

I've recently started studying Tarot in order to deepen my intuitive skills, and would like to get more information about your upcoming classes, including the New Mexico workshop.
